Rafael Nadal won a three set match over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. The Spaniard pulled out another grinder in 240 minutes. Tsonga served 26 aces in the match, but Nadal was still able to break the Frenchmen three times. Nadal advances to the semifinals where he will play another Frenchmen, Gael Monfils.

Gael Monfils had a routine victory over countrymen Julien Benneteau in straight sets.

Mario Ancic was in top form this afternoon when he bested Mikhail Youzhny in two sets. Ancic will go onto play No. 2 Andy Murray in the semifinals.

Tomas Berdych lost in the first round to the Bulgarian phenom, Grigo Dimitrov in singles. In doubles, he and his partner, Juergen Melzer upset third seeds Jeff Coetzee and Wesley Moodie in straight sets. They next will face to top seeds Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic in the semifinals.
