Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga had a routine win over Frederico Gil of Portugal in a little over an hour. His fellow countryman, Jeremy Chardy had a more challenging match, where the Frenchman upset the second seed, David Ferrer of Spain. Chardy saved three match points and managed to upset the Spaniard in two hours and 34 minutes. This sets up an all-French final. The Frenchmen have never played before.
