Nicolas Almagro successfully defended his Acapulco title. He defeated Gael Monfils in straight sets 6-4 6-4. The clay court specialist brought his big serve and forehand last night, which proved to be too much for the Frenchman. Almagro came up with big shots when he needed to and was always in control of the match.This is the Spaniard's fifth career ATP title, all on clay, and first title of the year.
