After both players rallied to win their round of 16 matches, David Ferrer and Tommy Robredo met in the second quarterfinal of the day. Ferrer beat his compatriot 6-3 6-4 after 82 minutes of play. He now awaits the winner of the Verdasco – Gonzalez match.
Ferrer was ridiculously consistent. Robredo had a couple of bad service games, and Ferrer took advantage each time. It also did not help that Robredo had a lot of unforced errors. With this victory, Ferrer is now 4-2 over Robredo.
