Tommy Haas continues to prevail in a march that began with his round of 16 appearance at Roland Garros and continued with his title in Halle a couple of weeks ago. Now, the German veteran has improved on his French grand slam appearance by advancing into the Wimbledon quarterfinal. He beat Igor Andreev 7-6(8) 6-4 6-4.
Haas now draws a tricky matchup with Novak Djokovic in the next round. Djokovic leads their head-to-head matchup 2-1. The 31-year-old veteran won their last meeting in Halle this year, when Haas stunned the Serb for the title. We shall see if the German's win was an aberration or a trend. Wednesday’s rematch should be titillating.
