Gilles Simon gained notice in 2008 when the Frenchman sent Roger Federer home in the second round of Toronto. Putting in an impressive performance over the year, Simon shot up to a career-high ranking of 6. Last year was not so kind to the Frenchman where he struggled to live up to expectations.

To add to his troubles, the Frenchmen was struck with tendinitis last year -- I guess it's contagious. His knee ailments forced him to withdraw from the Australian Open this year.
Hopefully, he will get better at least in time for Rotterdam because he has been missed on the tour.

The ATP put up a nice interview of Simon, so it was nice to see him to get some love.
