Teimuraz Gabashvili upset top-seed Tommy Haas 7-6(3) 7-5 in last night’s match in Delray Beach. Upon observation, Haas is now 1-3 since becoming an American citizen. His record was 2-1 this year before his new citizenship change. It is too early for judgment, but it is a curious development.

For the Russian, he opens up the top-half of the draw for himself, Evgeny Korolev and Ernests Gulbis. The current world no. 104 now awaits the winner of the Harrison-Gulbis match.
