Federer Pulls Out of Davis Cup, Dubai

Due to a back injury, Roger Federer will not play in the Dubai tournament at the end of the month and has pulled out of the Switzerland's Davis Cup match with the United States in March:

"As a precautionary measure, I will use the next few weeks to make sure the back injury is fully rehabilitated and I am ready for the rest of the 2009 season," Federer said in a statement posted on his Web site Tuesday.

Since this is precautionary measure, Federer should be fine as long as he is healthy for the Indian Wells tournament. His semifinal points, from last year, are the next set of points he has to defend this season.
